A webinar on joint development of startup ecosystem and setting up of Startup Cell to be mentored and supported by AIC – EMPI was organized with Prabhat Engineering College (PEC) Kanpur on 19th May 2020.
Event was attended by Dr. Subhash Singh Parihar, Director PEC; Shri Hari Shukla, Faculty, PEC, all HoDs, Sr. Professors, faculty members and a few students of PEC totalling more than 48. AIC- EMPI was represented by Mr. Vinod Midha, CEO; Mr. Mukesh Chandra Kestwal, Incubation Manager; and Mr. Ravindra Yadav, Technical Outreach Officer.
Shri Hari Shukla, outlined the objective of the webinar and gave background of the institute. Dr. Subhash Singh Parihar, Director of the PEC spoke about the existing ecosystem at the institute and highlighted that promoters of the institute are also very keen to encourage the students to set up startups and support the ecosystem.
Mr. Midha, explained the background of setting up of the AIC at EMPI and the focus areas of the incubator. He also explained in detail the various unique facilities specially created to provide world class ecosystem for the startups. The various programs to provide necessary skill and competency building inputs including master classes, training programs, interactive sessions which are being organized and conducted with the help of industry specialists. Facilities for Rapid prototyping using advanced simulation software and fab lab are being created. This will greatly reduce cost and time for converting ideas into market ready products and solutions.
He further highlighted that the PEC being in a Rural Areas is not a disadvantage but an advantage which holds wide possibilities in line with the government vision toward empowering rural areas. Also, both Organisations with their synergy in Agri Tech and Renewable domain can bring theproductsand solutions for rapid fieldtesting.
The webinar continued for about two hour interactive session was held to discuss various possibilities.
